The Valparaiso University Department of Music will host the United States Marine Band San Diego in concert on Friday, March 22, 7:00p, in the Chapel of the Resurrection. The concert is free, all seats are general admission, and no ticket is required.
The one-hour concert will feature Marine Band San Diego performing a variety of music to appeal to listeners of all ages. Marine Band San Diego is one of ten renowned US Marine Corps bands stationed around the world. They serve as musical ambassadors for our nation by performing throughout the continental United States and internationally.
The performance is being held in conjunction with the Marine Band San Diego’s Midwest Tour, and is being coordinated with the US Marine Corps’ Musician Enlistment Option Program.
The Valparaiso University Department of Music is honored to be hosting Marine Band San Diego, supporting our nation’s world-class musical heritage. In recent years, the Valparaiso University Department of Music has hosted the US Navy Band, US Air Force Band of Flight, and US Air Force Band.

Sarah Glenn DeMaris, Senior Research Professor in German, recently presented "Das Unterlindener Schwesternbuch: Werdegang einer Handschrift im Bodenseeraum" (The Unterlinden Sisterbook: Origins of a Lake Constance Manuscript) at the Salem Monastery and Palace complex by Lake Constance, Germany. The presentation was part of a conference about the cultural and literary landscape at Lake Constance in the late medieval period.
