Matthew L. Becker, professor of theology, recently published a new book, Fundamental Theology: A Protestant Perspective, 2d ed. (New York: Bloomsbury, 2024).

Shodhin K. Geiman (Philosophy/Theology) presented a paper, “Acting as a Buddha, Acting as Christ: Reconsidering the Action/Non-Action Debate Around Contemplative Life,” at the Mystical Theology Network Annual Meeting, St. John’s College, Oxford, on March 19.

An excerpt from Shodhin K. Geiman’s (Philosophy/Theology) Obstacles to Stillness: Thoughts, Hindrances, and Self-Surrender in Evagrius and the Buddha was published in the March 16 online edition of Tricycle: The Buddhist Review under the title “A Mess of Unwholesomeness.”

Lara Pudwell, Professor of Mathematics and Statistics, gave an invited talk entitled “Patterns in Permutations” at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN on March 11.  This talk was part of an annual endowed speaker series called “the TLC lectures” hosted by the St. Olaf College Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science department.
