Mate choice mechanisms are varied in nature, and have striking evolutionary significance in organisms across kingdoms.\u00a0 But in flowering plants, these mechanisms are less well understood. Indeed, because of their lack of mobility, flowering plants are sometimes thought to be passive and indiscriminate mates. Turns out, this isn\u2019t the case.
