{"id":409,"date":"2019-08-30T07:47:23","date_gmt":"2019-08-30T12:47:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.valpo.edu\/cital-blog\/?p=409"},"modified":"2025-02-17T16:32:15","modified_gmt":"2025-02-17T22:32:15","slug":"write-more-by-joining-the-faculty-writing-circle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/intra.valpo.edu\/cital\/write-more-by-joining-the-faculty-writing-circle\/","title":{"rendered":"Write More by Joining the Faculty Writing Circle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>by Cynthia Rutz, Director of Faculty Development, CITAL<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dear Colleagues:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Would you like to get more writing done this semester?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A great way to help you achieve your writing goals is to join the Faculty Writing Circle facilitated by CITAL (the Valparaiso Institute for Teaching and Learning).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We meet once a week for just an hour in order to :<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">get feedback on our current writing projects<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">share writing goals<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">encourage each other to keep on finding time to write<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here is what your colleagues say about it:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI always get more done when I join the writing circle.\u00a0 It&#8217;s that simple!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211;Coleen Wilder, College of Business<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;I always look forward to going to writing circle, both to increase my productivity and for the chance to socialize with colleagues outside of my department.
