General Project Proposal Format Guidelines<\/span><\/p>\n

I. Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please provide an abstract of no more than 1-3 pages. This abstract should contain:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Your proposed teaching\/learning topic<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Your experience with this topic<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. What you currently know about the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL) on this topic<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Describe the benefits of learning about this topic both for you and for other faculty at Valpo<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    II. Selective Curriculum Vitae<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The curriculum vitae should focus on teaching and SoTL (such as, emphasize publications, presentations, and performances that are related to teaching and learning and include courses taught).<\/span><\/p>\n

    A few tips for preparing an effective vitae are:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Prominently display your title or position along with your name.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Date the document.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Give your birth date, not your age.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • State your primary and secondary fields of specialization along with your position.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • List your professional positions in reverse chronological order.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Use separate headings for books, published articles, and papers presented orally at international, national, regional, or statewide conferences.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • List the courses you have taught.<\/span><\/li>\n
