Welcome
The mission of the Center for Innovation in Teaching, Assessment, and Learning (CITAL) is to provide all faculty with the resources and support to successfully teach at Valparaiso University. CITAL staff are committed to engaging faculty in three fundamental areas:
Faculty Development
Focusing on the faculty member as a teacher, scholar, professional, and campus citizen through workshops, learning communities, grants, and other development opportunities.
Teaching and Learning Resources
Focusing on face-to-face, hybrid, and online course and curriculum design, including incorporating the Quality Matters framework, universal design principles, and technology when appropriate.
Assessment
Focusing on working with departments, programs, and faculty to develop assignments and evaluations that align with institutional, departmental, and course-level student learning objectives.
