Teaching by Discussion
We would all like to have great conversations in our classes. But they are not always so easy to bring about. Students can be shy or tired or disinterested or just plain unprepared, and we can feel compelled to fill that alienating silence with our own voice. In this FLC we will seek out best practices and strategies for engaging students in authentic and instructive discussion. The group will then implement some of these techniques in our classes and discuss the results.
