Let’s Talk Video Game Development: Putting our Strengths Together Towards a Multidisciplinary Degree

How can we push forward Valpo’s curriculum offerings to incorporate the exciting and growing field of Video Game Development? This complex field incorporates many disciplines such as story writing, music, psychology, system design, coding, and graphic design, all of which play a role in the final product. This FLC would need a dedicated group of faculty from these and other fields to brainstorm together to answer the following questions: How can we empower our students who want to engage in this new field? Should we create a new major? How about additional minors that allow students to mix and match to specialize? The ideal outcome of this FLC will be a report that can draw a roadmap for potential degree paths.
